Last night, our members voted unanimously to approve a constitutional and bylaw amendment I proposed to officially rename our organization “Dewey R. Stokes, Capital City Lodge #9.”
This historic change honors the extraordinary legacy, leadership, and lifelong service of Dewey R. Stokes. His commitment to our members, our profession, and our community helped shape this Lodge into what it is today, and it is only fitting that his name will forever be part of its identity.
I want to thank our members for their overwhelming support of this meaningful tribute. Dewey’s legacy will continue to inspire future generations of law enforcement officers and labor leaders.
